Words from Management

After 20 years on site, refractory is where heat, steel, and experience meet. When the temperature rises, the lining decides whether a plant keeps running or shuts down. Done right, nobody notices.

Phillip Khoza Site Manager

Every operation depends on people who take responsibility for keeping things running. At Ithayela Installations, our role in refractory is to support that stability and help industry perform at its best

Gladys Motsima Managing Director

Throughout my marketing career, I realized performance speaks louder than promises. Our focus is simple: deliver reliable solutions that help clients run longer, safer, and more efficiently. That trust is what builds lasting partnerships.

How much will my project cost?

The cost depends on the condition of your equipment, the refractory materials required, access to the work area, and the scope of installation or repairs. We normally inspect first, then provide a clear quotation so there are no surprises later.

From a technician’s perspective, the difference usually comes down to workmanship and material choice. We focus on correct installation practices, proper anchoring, expansion allowances, and using materials suited to the operating conditions.

Yes, references can be provided. For confidentiality reasons we normally share references with the client’s permission, but we are able to point you to recent projects or clients who can speak about our work.

Normally it starts with a discussion about the equipment and the problem you are experiencing. After that, a site visit or technical assessment is arranged so the scope of work can be defined and a quotation prepared.

That depends on the project size, material availability and your shutdown schedule. Small repair jobs can start quickly, while larger projects usually will take little bit more due to site preparations, planning and coordination with the plant’s maintenance schedule and after we have received the purchase order, which is a confirmation that we can start the project.
